Whenever we do something for the first time, we’re learning how. Riding a bike doesn’t work the first time, and reading is hard.
How did you become good at reading? Doing it repeatedly, making mistakes, trying again, and growing in your abilities.
As an adult and a senior software developer, I want to appear not to make mistakes. I don’t do as much. I want to show up as perfect.
And that’s the wrong way to grow. We’re not perfect. We need to make mistakes to learn.
If we’re prolific enough with our mistakes, we’ll learn enough to become much greater than we currently are.
Prolific is greater than perfect.
